TOBIN provided Civil and Structural Design Services for the construction of a 2 storey Primary Care Centre comprising a concrete frame structure at Sean Purcell Road, Tuam, Co. Galway.
The total building footprint is approximately 2,600m² over 2 storeys on a site of 2.2ha. Site works included foul, storm and water main infrastructure, roads, parking (77 surface carpark spaces) and all associated site works.
The multi-storey Primary Care Centre features GP surgeries, dental surgeries, public health nursing rooms, staff facilities, and offices and will provide a wide range of community-based services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language, psychology, ultrasound services, orthodontic services, heart failure service and Westdoc out of hours service, amongst others. The car park contains 77 car parking spaces, 7 of which are wheelchair accessible.
There is a large amount of communal/general admittance and ‘open entry’ space at the core of all the Primary Care Centres with examining wings and levels bridging off to the separate rooms and floors throughout.
