TOBIN Consulting Engineers provided Civil and Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying and PSDP for the new industrial manufacturing building at Poolboy, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. The building consisted of a 3600sqm production area and with 5m eaves height, a 300 sqm Reception and display area at ground floor level, a 300 sqm Office Area at First Floor Level. In addition to these spaces, Dock levellers and loading bay access to the production area was also required and a large yard with a capacity for arctic truck parking and turning, bulk gas tanks, diesel tanks, dust extraction and a ESB substation. Ample on-site parking for employees in accordance with development plan requirements was also a requirement.
TOBIN provided Civil and Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying and carried out inspections and monitored the civil and structural elements during the Construction Stage. Quantity Surveying services consisted of Cost Planning, Cost Control, Preparation of Tender Documents including detailed Bills of Quantities, management of procurement through etenders, Tender Evaluations, Contract Administration, Final Account Negotiation and Agreement. As PSDP and under our duties under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013, we reviewed Design Risk Assessments prepared by all Designers relevant to the project to identify the particular risks on the project.
