Denis holds an honours degree in Civil Engineering from NUIG and a diploma in Project Management from the University of Limerick. He is a chartered member of both Engineers Ireland and the Institution of Structural Engineers and has also lectured part-time in engineering at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.
Denis has over 30 years’ experience in project development, from concept/planning stages, through to all stages of design and to final completion. He has worked on projects in the education, commercial, residential, industrial and civil engineering sectors. These projects include major extensions to the University College Hospital Galway, large scale commercial developments and notable buildings on a number of large college campus grounds around Ireland. Denis also has extensive Civil Engineering experience having worked on the M4, the M7 and the M50 motorways.
Outside of work, Denis has coached juvenile athletics with Galway City Harriers.
