This state-of-the-art National Games Development Centre is located in the National Sports Campus in Dublin. This nationally important project for the GAA includes a total of 5 playing pitches, four of which are full size with floodlighting, a 3G synthetic pitch, a highly innovative hurling wall and a pavilion building housing 10 dressing rooms, a reception area, a gymnasium, associated facilities for physiotherapy, referee rooms, meeting rooms, and dining facilities.
The project was completed in 2 phases. The first phase included the construction of the pitches and the second phase included the construction of the Sports Pavilion building. The covered seated spectator area can accommodate up to 400 people. The building uses the latest sustainable energy solutions, reducing the running costs on a life cycle basis.
This National Games Development Centre plays a pivotal role in increasing participation and improving the performance of individuals within the GAA for the benefit of both the association and the individuals.
