Ronan Murtagh, Associate Director and Patrick Cunningham Technical Director at TOBIN, recently attended the official opening of the Edenderry Inner Relief Road phase 2 project.
This project involved the construction of 1km of new road, including 2km of segregated cycleways and footpaths. This will help ease traffic congestion along the main street in the town and provide a safe and illuminated path for pedestrians and cyclists travelling from the west side of the town to the east. It will also open up significant areas for future development.
This improvement will provide commuters with an alternative transportation option when travelling through Edenderry. Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of this project were completed in collaboration with the Department of Transport, which funded both schemes under the Specific Improvement Grant Programme.
We were pleased to work with our design team partners Ciaran Reilly & Associates, who provided geotechnical design and site expertise for this project in challenging ground conditions and the Main Contractor, Tower Plant & Civil Engineering who successfully delivered the project.
We are delighted to be part of the team that completed this project for Offaly County Council and the Department of Transport.
