TOBIN was the Employer’s Representative for Mayo County Council on the Mayo Rural Water DBO Bundle 1A project. This project included upgrades to thirteen existing Group Water Scheme water treatment plants in County Mayo.

The thirteen plants served some 5,350 connections and supplied 4,000m3/d to the schemes.

Ten of the thirteen schemes were served by pressure filters and membrane filters, while two had ozone treatment and one had membrane filters without upstream pressure filtration.

Upgrade works were divided into minor and major works. Minor works, at five WTWs, related mainly to upgrades to existing membrane filters, while major works, at nine WTWs, involved the installation of Dissolved Air Flotation treatment.

The construction works commenced in May 2016 and a Taking Over Certificate was issued to the Contractor (Glan Agua) in January 2019, which also represented the commencement date for the 15-year O&M Phase.

TOBIN managed the project through the design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases, and were also PSDP for the project.
