This project comprises of the redevelopment of “Mary Brennans’” building into a multi-use public facility, public realm enhancements to Wolfe Tone Square, including increased pedestrian areas and landscaping and road and lighting upgrades to improve safety and accessibility. This redevelopment retains the historical façade while modernising the building’s functionality, preserving cultural heritage while providing new community amenities.
The creation of green spaces and the installation of shelter/covered spaces provide valuable recreational areas that promote physical activity, social interaction, and mental well-being. Additionally, the provision of high-quality street furniture, including seating and public water facilities, ensures that the urban environment is comfortable and welcoming for all members of the community.
