Dr. John Staunton has a PhD. and B.Sc. (1st class hons.) in Environmental Science from the National University of Ireland, Galway. With almost 9 years professional experience working in an environmental consultancy and extensive environmental knowledge attained through his academic career, he has a demonstrable and proven track record of the key characteristics necessary for his position. During his career to date, John has developed a broad skillset through extensive project management; report writing, fieldwork (including ECoW); GIS mapping; data analysis; and compiling reports/EIARs for a wide range of projects including multi-million Euro developments. In addition to this, his has made a significant contribution to the field of environmental science, being lead author on four peer-reviewed publications in international scientific journals.
As a Senior Project Manager and Environmental Scientist with TOBIN, John has been responsible for management and co-ordination of project teams and Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and Environmental Reports (ERs) for numerous projects, including multi-million-euro developments such as wind farms (including Strategic Infrastructure Development). John also produces content for numerous EIARs and ERs.
