Michael has joined the Environment and Planning Division in Dublin for work placement within the Ecology Team. Michael is an undergraduate of Wildlife Biology in his third year at Munster Technological University. He developed an interest in the natural world from a young age and this inspired his career path into ecology.

In his degree, Michael studies modules on a range of different topics such as Zoology, Botany, Environmental Science and Habitat Studies. He enjoys birdwatching and volunteers with Birdwatch Ireland doing bird surveys and with his local Birdwatch Ireland Branch in Westmeath. In his placement with TOBIN, he hopes to develop and build on his skills in ecological practices.

In his free time, Michael enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors.
